Danilo Morazan Aguilar - A victim of Impaired Driving in Blaine, Minnesota

Danilo Morazan Aguilar

Danilo Morazan Aguilar, age 39, died on May 5, 2016, near his home in Blaine, Minnesota.

He was known as Dani to his family and friends.

Blaine is part of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area.

At about 9:30 p.m., Danilo was checking his mailbox near his home in a Blaine suburb. A car was speeding down the residential street at 60 miles per hour, struck another vehicle and then drove up on the sidewalk and struck Danilo, mortally wounding him.

Paramedics and neighbors tried to revive Dani, but tragically, he died of his injuries at the scene.

The driver who struck Danilo fled the scene but was apprehended by the Police later. Adam Rodman, age 27, has been arrested and charged with criminal vehicular homicide. It is believed that he was drunk at the time of the collision with Danilo.

Adam Rodman is currently on probation for an incident in 2014 when he entered a woman's home and destroyed property.

Local area residents state that speeding drivers in this neighborhood are a menace.

Speeding drivers and drunk drivers run into parked cars, street signs, utility poles, trees - you name it. It's like the Indianapolis 500 in this area. It is time that the City of Blaine stepped up and instituted much stricter traffic regulations for this area. It may be in order for the City of Blaine to post some police officers in the area to catch speeding and drunk drivers.

Adam Rodman is innocent unless proven guilty.

However we offer this advice to all drivers: If you find that you are drunk, wasted or doped up on street drugs or prescription drugs or if you are falling asleep on your feet, do NOT drive. Call a family member or a friend for a ride; or take a taxi or a bus; or stay where you are until you sober up; or crawl home on your hands and knees. It will be better for you and for the world if you do.

Regret can last a lifetime.

A funding site has been set up to help Dani's family with expenses.

Danilo's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was a gentle and friendly man with a loving spirit. He was loved in return. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Danilo is survived by many loving friends and family members including his wife.

Pray for justice for Danilo.

God save us from the drunk and the doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

God save us from the hit-and-run drivers. They strike us down on the road and then run away like wolves. Amen.

Pray that Danilo is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
