Bryan Berger - Law Enforcement - Virginia

Deputy Sheriff Bryan Berger, age 34, died in the line of duty on April 28, 2014, at a hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Bryan was a member of the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office. He had 7 months of service. Previously, he had served two years as a dispatcher for the Sheriff's Office.

Bryan was participating in physical training at the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy in Fredericksburg. He was performing several exercises while warming up for officer survival exercises when he began experiencing difficulty breathing. He collapsed and was rushed to Mary Washington Hospital where sadly he passed away.

Bryan was assigned to the Courts Division of the Sheriff's Office. He was a volunteer for the Spotsylvania County Rescue Squad.

The Sheriff's Office is in mourning over the death of their brother. 

Bryan's family are devastated by his sudden and tragic passing.

Bryan is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members, including his parents and his wife, Heidi.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Bryan is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
