Christian Chandler - U.S. Military

Christian Chandler
Pfc. Christian J. Chandler, age 20, of Trenton, Texas, died on April 28, 2014, in the Baraki Barak District, Logar province, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light), Fort Drum, New York.

Christian joined the Army in October of 2012. After training at Fort Benning, Georgia, he arrived at Fort Drum in February of 2013.  He deployed with his unit in October of 2013 to Afghanistan.


His military comrades are in mourning over his tragic death.  He will be missed. 

His family members are devastated over his tragic passing.  He will be forever mourned.

His awards and decorations include the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the National
Light a candle for Christian.  Light his
way to Heaven.
Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He completed the Combat Life Savers Course.


Christian is survived by many loving comrades, friends and relatives, including his mother and stepfather.

Thank you for serving, Christian. 

Pray for all who die young in a foreign land.  Yesterday, they were just boys.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Christian.

Pray that Christian is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
