Sgt. Michael Knapp, age 28, from Overland Park, Kansas, died in the line of duty, on May 18, 2012, in Afghanistan.
Mike was a graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School and after graduation he went into the National Guard, served a few years, left briefly and then re-enlisted as a full-time soldier.
He was serving his third tour of duty in Afghanistan. He had also served in Kosovo and Iraq.

Family members stated that Mike served bravely and did what he wanted to do for his country.
He is also described as a man of faith, caring, loving and loyal.
Mike is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Abby and their 9 month old daughter, Kinsley.
Let us pray that Michael Knapp is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
