Kechi Diaz - murdered - domestic violence in Texas

Kechi Diaz, age 25, died on October 13, 2012, in Lockney, Texas.

Her boyfriend, 50 year old Edward Delgado Hernandez has been arrested and charged with murder.

Hernandez has spent time behind bars in the past. He is a registered sex offender and was convicted of sexually assaulting a seven year old in 1986. 

Family members describe Kechi as a caring mother and a loving person.

Her life was not an easy one. She lived with her father, and was estranged from her husband, Rolando, who recently was released from prison. For two years, Kechi Diaz had an off-and-on relationship with Edward Hernandez, who had told her of his conviction in 1986 on charges of aggravated sexual assault. He told Kechi that his ex-wife made up the sex charges that led to his conviction and sadly Kechi believed him.

Kechi is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her father; sister, Mary McGowan; her brother, Jackie McGowan; sister in law, MaryJane McGowan; and Kechi's four young children. 

Last year in Texas alone, 104 women died as a result of domestic abuse. Pray for an end to the violence. 

God save us from those who say they love us one day and then kill us the next. Amen
