Carlos Blanco, Antonio Blanco and Lucas Blanco - killed by an alleged Drunk Driver in California

Carlos Blanco, age 21, Antonio Blanco, age 19, and Lucas Blanco, age 15, died on April 25, 2015, on a highway in Sutter County, California.

The county seat is Yuba City with a population of just under 95,000. 

Carlos, Antonio and Lucas were riding in a 1991 Honda Accord just before 4:00 in the afternoon when their vehicle was struck by a truck.  A minute or so after the collision the Blanco family's vehicle burst into flames. 

Local area residents and witnesses who saw or heard the crash ran out to help. People tried to water down the car and to use fire extinguishers to stop the fire but to no avail. 

Tragically, Carlos, Antonio and Lucas died at the scene. The brothers were pinned under the burning car. 

Michael Jones, age 38, of Oroville, lost control of his truck, veered onto the wrong side of the road and struck the Blanco family's car, flipping it. 

Michael Jones was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and manslaughter. It is claimed that he had a blood alcohol reading of more than 4 times the legal limit. He also has no driver's license. He had been arrested in February of 2015 on an alcohol related offence. He states that he does not have a problem with alcohol.

Michael Jones is innocent unless proven guilty. 

However we offer this advice to all drivers: If you find that you are wasted, drunk or doped up on street drugs or prescription drugs or if you are falling asleep on your feet, do NOT drive. Call a family member or a friend for a ride; or take a taxi; or stay where you are until you sober up; or crawl home on your hands and knees. It will be better for you and for the world if you do.

Regret can last a lifetime.

A fundraising site has been set up to help the family with three funerals. 

Lucas was a high school student. Carlos leaves behind a baby daughter. Antonio leaves behind a son and a pregnant wife, due any day.

The loved ones of Carlos, Antonio and Lucas are devastated over their sudden and tragic deaths. These young men were good guys, great parents, and were greatly loved by their family. These men will be forever mourned.

Carlos, Antonio and Lucas are survived by many loving friends and family members who will forever miss them.

Pray for justice for Carlos, Antonio and Lucas. 

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray for all who die young. They barely had a chance to live.

God save us from the drunk and the doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Carlos, Antonio and Lucas are in heaven. Pray that they are at peace and are with God. Amen.
