Lisa Hermes - a victim of domestic murder in Texas

Lisa Hermes; Jerry Hermes Jr. 

Lisa Hermes, age 32, died on October 12, 2014, at her home in New Braunfels, Texas. 

Sometime around 8:30 p.m., Lisa was shot multiple times as she sat in the driver's seat of her vehicle parked in the driveway of her home.  She was returning from the grocery store. Her three children, all under 10 years old, were in the back seat. They were not physically harmed. 

Lisa was killed by her husband, Jerry Hermes Jr., age 35, in what is another tragic example of domestic abuse and murder. He fled the scene. 

Jerry was hunted down by the Police and was found in a barn in Marion, Texas.  He started shooting and was in turn shot and killed by a U.S. Deputy Marshall. 

Lisa's family members stated that there had been a history of domestic violence in this 10 year marriage.

Lisa had filed for divorce in August of 2014.  She had filed a restraining order against her husband in September of 2014.  Jerry Hermes had brandished a gun during a dispute. Later, he kept phoning and texting his wife with threatening comments.

This entire incident is tragic in so many ways. A young woman and a young man lost their lives. A young man committed murder. Three children saw their mother being murdered and have lost both parents. 

Advice to anyone in a relationship:  The first time that your spouse or partner (whether male or female) threatens you with a beating or death; holds a knife to your throat or a gun to your head, or throws an ashtray or a lamp at your face or punches you in the gut, or kicks you or gives you a black eye, start planning to leave, sooner rather than later. The marriage is over. Everyone wants to be loved, but physical abuse and fear is not love. 

Lisa's family are devastated over her tragic and senseless death. They will seek custody of her children. She will be forever mourned.

Lisa is survived by many loving friends and family members including her parents and her children.

God save us from the Lost Ones who once said they loved us and then kill us.

Pray for these three children who have suffered through an unspeakable tragedy.

Pray that Lisa is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
