Jett Higham - a teenager killed in Richmond, Virginia

Jett Higham
Jett Higham, age 18, died on July 2, 2013, on a street near his home in Richmond, Virginia.

Jett was shot in the neck by thugs who wanted his cellphone and $4.00 in his pocket.

After dinner, he had gone out for a walk to get some candy. He had an after-dinner ritual of walking to the store for some sweets. Three blocks from his home, he was attacked.

Police describe it as a robbery gone horribly wrong.

Jett was a good kid who was into photography and art. He had appeared as an extra in several TV shows and films.

Family members describe him as a dreamer. He had finished high school and was starting to work. He had a larger-than-life personality; an infectious innocence and grand plans for success in his life.

Three young men have been arrested in connection with this murder - Myles Sanders, age 20; Billy Reynolds, age 18; and a 16 year old who is unidentified.

These men are innocent until proven guilty. However, whichever men committed this horrible crime have taken the life of a promising and innocent young man and have ruined their own lives over a secondhand cellphone and $4.00. If convicted, whoever is responsible will sit in jail for a lifetime pondering their crime.  They will remember Jett Higham every day for the rest of their lives.

Jett's family are adamant that some sort of gun control has to be in effect. And an
Angels of God, pray for Jett
increased police presence in their area is necessary.

Jett is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Toni-Leslie James; his father, David Higham; and his sister, Cosima Higham.

Pray for all who die as teenagers. They barely had a chance to live. Amen.

God save us from the thieves. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Jett is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

That was one of my best friends, I seen him almost everyday,
He's gone now and it seems like they killed my brother.
