Jarett Yoder - U.S. Military

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jarett Yoder, age 26, of Brecknock Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, died on April 9, 2013, in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan.

The Apache Helicopter he was flying in crashed during a reconnaissance mission.

Jarett was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard - Company B - 1-104th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, based at Fort Indiantown Gap.

Jarett had attended Oley Valley High School in Oley, Pennsylvania. He had also attended Reading Community College and had joined the military in 2005.

He had gotten married in July of 2012 and had deployed to Afghanistan in August of 2012. He had previously deployed to Iraq.

Jarett's wife, Heather, stated that: Jarett is my American Hero. He always dreamed of being an Apache pilot and he followed those dreams to continue to fight for our country. Jarett died doing what he loved and dreamed of doing, a true hero. There are so many people who love him and we will never forget. I love you, always and forever.

Family members describe Jarett as an active man who besides flying, loved soccer, mountain biking, snowboarding, hunting and speeding on the lakes on his WaveRunner.

They describe Jarett as having a constant smile, a positive attitude and unwavering

courage. He will be forever missed.

Jarett is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Diane; his father, Gary; his brother Byron; his sister, Amanda; and his wife, Heather.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
