Joshua was the victim of a mortar shell explosion at an army depot during a training exercise.
He joined the Marines in July of 2012, but already had earned the National Defense Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
Family members said that Joshua wanted to be a Marine all of his life and joined the Corps right out of high school.
Joshua was engaged to his high school sweetheart and the couple were planning a wedding next year.
Angels of God, pray for Joshua |
Joshua is described as out-going, talkative, and an accomplished hunter.
Joshua is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother Karen Perry and his fiancee.
Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next. Amen.
Pray for the 19 year olds who die in the line of duty. Yesterday, they were just boys. Amen.
Thank you for serving, Joshua.
Let us pray that Joshua is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
