William McGary - Law Enforcement - Arkansas

Police Officer William McGary, age 26, died in the line of duty on February 1, 2013, in Little Rock, Arkansas. 

William was a member of the Conway Police Department. He had almost 2 years of service. 

He was known as Will to many of his friends and relatives. 

At about 8:00 p.m. on January 31, 2013, Officer McGary was directing traffic at the scene of an accident when a car struck him. The driver who struck him was arrested at the scene and charged with several counts, including driving under the influence of narcotics.

Officer McGary was flown to a hospital in Little Rock where he remained in serious condition until succumbing to his injuries.

William is a 2005 graduate of Searcy High School. 

Police Officials stated that they are proud of William McGary's service to the community. 

Friends describe William as one of the nicest people you'd ever meet. He was helpful, and fun to be around. He could always be counted on to be there for you. 

William is survived by many loving friends and relatives. 

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
