Polio Workers - murdered in Nigeria

Boko Haram, an Islamic extremist group, is at it again. 

Barbarism Alert - Nigeria

They are killing polio workers.  

On February 10, 2013, the bodies of three North Korean doctors were discovered in Potiskum, 300 miles from the nation's capital, Abuja. Two of the doctors had their throats slit and one was beheaded.  The doctors had been running a polio vaccination clinic. 

On February 8, 2013,  nine female polio workers working in Kano, Nigeria, were shot dead. 

In October of 2012, 2 police officers in Kano were murdered for guarding a polio clinic.

Boko Haram does not like polio workers or polio doctors because they do not like polio vaccinations.  They believe that polio vaccinations are a plot by the U.S.A. Government and the Central Intelligence Agency of the U.S.A. to sterilize Muslim women and to spread AIDS.  They also believe that these polio workers and medical professionals counsel the women they are vaccinating to get an education. 

Boko Haram does not like the idea of education for women.  

So...they kill polio workers. 

There are only 3 countries in which polio has recently surfaced - Nigeria, Afghanistan and Pakistan. 

And what are the 3 countries in which polio workers have their heads cut off? - Nigeria, Afghanistan and Pakistan.  Go figure. 

Pray for those who die because they come to the aid of others.  Amen.
