Jarvis Montaque - murdered in Toronto

Jarvis Montaque, age 15, died on February 17, 2013, in the Jamestown neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario.

He was shot just before 11:00 p.m. on the street. The shooting occurred as a group of people were standing on a paved walkway in front of a home at a housing complex on Jamestown Crescent. 

A male walked up to the group and shot Jarvis at close range before fleeing.  Jarvis later died in hospital.

Friends describe Jarvis as a hard worker who volunteered in the community. He is also described as quiet, had a great attitude, had a sense of humour and was always smiling.

He is also described as a good good kid.  He was a Grade 10 student. According to friends he had no criminal record.

Friends state that they are in shock because he had no known enemies.

Jarvis studied in Canada at Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School and spent his summers in Jamaica. 

Pray for all who die young and violently.

Pray for justice for Jarvis.
