Emily Weikert - murdered in Colorado

Emily Weikert, age 25, died on December 28, 2012, in a suburb of Denver, Colorado.

Emily had been shot twice in the back and was found in the parking garage of her apartment building. 

Robert Lewis, age 51, a suspect in the case, barricaded himself in his apartment for 11 hours and then took his own life.

Robert Lewis worked at a local bank (CoBank) for 20 years but was recently fired for harassing Emily Weikert at work. It is presumed that he shot Emily in retaliation for his firing. She is described as a beautiful and vibrant young woman. 

Emily was from West Des Moines, Iowa. She attended both West Des Moines’ Valley High School and Iowa State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in finance in 2009. She had also been a member of the Iowa State Symphony Orchestra. She moved from Iowa to Colorado to take a job as a credit analyst with CoBank.

Friends say they are in shock and disbelief over this tragedy. Emily is described as kind-hearted, out-going and friendly. 

Nick Willette, Emily's boyfriend, has stated that his heart has been ripped in half. He stated that Emily loved and missed her family and friends in Iowa.

Emily is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her parents and her boyfriend, Nick. 

God help us. God save us from the Obsessed Ones and the Stalkers. Their obsessions take us to death. Amen.
