Ryan Jayne

Spc. Ryan P. Jayne, age 22, of Campbell, New York, died on November 3, 2012, in Paktia Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 178th Engineer Battalion, 412th Theater Engineer Command, Oswego, New York.  He was a combat engineer and was a driver as well. His crew would clear roads and find explosive devices.

Ryan had just returned to Afghanistan from a 10 day leave at home.

Family members stated that there is no more honorable way to die than in serving your country.

Angels of God, pray for Ryan
It was also stated that Ryan was dedicated to the Army and to keeping others safe.

Ryan is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his mother; his father, Paul; and his brother, Adam.

Ultimately, Ryan was just a kid. He was too young to die in combat.  God help us all.

Thank you for serving, Ryan.

Let us pray that Ryan Jayne is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
