Justin Marquez

Staff Sgt. Justin C. Marquez, age 25, of Aberdeen, North Carolina, died on October 6, 2012, in Chak district, Wardak Province, Afghanistan, of gunshot wounds suffered while on dismounted patrol.

He was assigned to the 1st Special Forces Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina. 

Justin Marquez enlisted in the Army in January of 2009. He graduated from the Army’s Special Forces Qualification Course in February of 2011.

He completed a number of advanced courses and had received several medals and ribbons. He was on his first overseas deployment.

Justin is survived by many loving friends and family members, including his mother and father, and his brother.
