| Kofi Annan - annoyed, pissed off, defeated and angry |
Kofi Annan stated that Bashar Al-Assad "must leave office".
In an announcement tinged with bitterness and regret, Mr. Annan said he could no longer do the job, blaming his decision on what he described as Syrian government intransigence, increasing militance by Syrian rebels and the failure of a divided Security Council to rally forcefully behind his efforts.
The United Nations puts the death toll in Syria at 17,000, while rebel groups assert that it is closer to 20,000.
Every day that Bashar Al-Assad, the hereditary dictator of Syria, lives and refuses to leave Syria, more and more people die, including thousands of civilians. Woman and children are murdered in their beds by his troops.
He has already stashed away $6 Billion U.S. in Russia for his "retirement fund". But he is reluctant to go. Hold on for one more day and steal another 1/2 a million dollars? Is that the reason for this carnage and slaughter of the innocents or is it just the old "hey, this is my family's job. We pass on dictatorships and I don't want to give it up. What would my children do?"
