He was killed in a helicopter crash. The helicopter was involved in heavy lift operations when it went down 58 miles from Muscat, Oman's capital City.
Joseph was a Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) Second Class in the Navy.
He was known to his friends as J.P. to some and as Fitz to others.
He joined the Navy in 2004.

Military officials stated that he was an honourable, talented and professional soldier and a patriot.
It was stated that he loved his wife and family, his dogs, his truck, football, country music, beer, flying and his comrades.
Joseph is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his wife, Jacqueline.
Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
Let us pray that Joseph Fitzmorris is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
