Nicholas Olivas

Cpl. Nicholas H. Olivas, age 20, of Fairfield, Ohio, died on May 30, 2012, in Zharay, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 4th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. 

Nicholas graduated from Fairfield High School in 2010. He joined the Army in 2010 and this was his first deployment to Afghanistan.

Family members stated that he was an avid fisherman and hunter. 

Friends describe him a a good kid, positive, responsible, dependable and a brave man. 

Nicholas is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his father, Adolfo Olivas; his mother, Marian Olivas; 3 sisters; his wife, Faith; and their son, Connor. 

Let us pray that Nicholas Olivas is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
