He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Jarrod was a 2010 graduate of Mead High School in Fairwood, near Spokane. He joined the Army in July of 2010 and was first deployed to Afghanistan four months later.
High school officials describe Jarrod as very friendly, outgoing and positive.

Military officials stated that Jarrod was a quiet professional who impressed people with his deeds. He never shied away from a challenge. They also stated that he will be deeply missed.
Friends stated that he was a great kid who everyone liked.
Family members stated that Jarrod loved soccer, his friends, fishing, camping and animals. They describe him as outgoing and easygoing and likable. Jarrod always wanted to serve in the military and was proud to serve his country. He is their hero.
His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge and the Parachutist Badge.
Jarrod is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his parents Kim and Gary Lallier; his brother, Jordan and sister, Jessica.
Pray for the 20 year olds who die in combat. Yesterday, they were just boys.
Let us pray that Jarrod Lallier is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
