David Wargo - Law Enforcement - Arizona

Deputy Sheriff David Wargo, age 39, died on May 1, 2012, in Arizona.

He had been a member of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Phoenix, Arizona.

On May 23, 2003, (9 years ago), David was working an off duty detail at a supermarket in Phoenix, when he encountered a man parking in a prohibited area and instructed him to move. The subject attempted to flee the scene while Deputy Wargo held onto the truck. The driver reached speeds of up to 50 mph before Deputy Wargo fell from the truck and struck his head on the pavement. He suffered severe head injuries as a result and was left in a highly disabled state.
Michael, Archangel,
Patron Saint of the Police,
pray for David, and for Lisa who
has lost her loved one and for
his children who have lost
their father.

The driver of the vehicle was convicted of several charges after the initial incident and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

David spent the past nine years shuffling from a rehabilitation center in California to being cared for at his Valley home, where his wife and children helped tend to his needs. His pain worsened in recent years.

His wife, Lisa, quit her job in law enforcement to care for him. She stated that she took care of him as he failed and looked after 2 children in diapers at the same time.

Lisa has stated that she is glad that David has finally found rest and is free of pain.

David is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Lisa; and his three sons - Noah (age 12), Nickolas (age 11) and Zachary (age 9).

Pray for all who die young and who linger and suffer.

Pray for Lisa, who lost her loved one, slowly over time, and who has three young sons to raise without their father.

Let us pray that David Wargo is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
