Alex was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii. He served within the brigade as a door gunner.
Alex was found unresponsive in his quarters.
Alex graduated from Lanier High School. He joined the Army in July of 2009. Before he came to Hawaii, he was a Test Equipment Operator and attended Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Family members stated that they love Alex and will forever miss him.
His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, and an Aviator Badge.
Alex is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife Tyasia Pompy.
Let us pray that Alex Hernandez III is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
