He was assigned to Battery B, First Battalion, 21st Field Artillery Regiment, 41st Fires Brigade, First Cavalry Division. He had been at Fort Hood, Texas, since August 2011.
He had been injured in a motorcycle accident on April 13, 2012, at Copperas Cove, near Fort Hood, and later succumbed to his injuries.

Cory enlisted in the Army in January of 2010 as a multiple rocket systems crew member.
He had been at Fort Hood since August of 2011.
His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon.
Cory is survived by many loving friends and relatives.
Let us pray that Cory Kendall Pieper is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
