Jacob Sten Lund Olsen

Danish soldier Jacob Sten Lund Olsen, age 22, was killed on September 3, 2011, near Gereshk in Helmand province in Afghanistan, due to the explosion of an improvised explosive device.

Jacob was with the second Company, 2nd training battalion of the Regiment in Slagelse. He was deployed to Afghanistan on July 25, 2011.

Military officials and friends describe Jacob as strong-willed, grounded and goal-oriented. He is also described as good humoured, loyal and dependable. It is said that he had a positive attitude to life.

Jacob is survived by his parents, five siblings and his girlfriend. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jacob Sten Lund Olsen is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
