Patrick was a member of the Nebraska National Guard. Patrick was assigned to the 2-135th General Support Aviation Battalion and had been in Afghanistan for about a week. He joined the National Guard when he was 18 and moved with his unit from Lincoln to Grand Island.

Family members describe him as an amazing young men and the best of his generation.
He is survived by numerous loving family members and friends including his mother and father, step-father, two brothers and his girlfriend and their 2 year old daughter and a step-daughter.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Patrick Hamburger is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
