Cody G. Baker

Pfc. Cody G. Baker, age 19, of Holton, Kansas, was killed on August 3, 2011, in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Polk, Louisiana. 

Cody was a 2010 graduate of Holton High School.

Cody Baker joined the Army in June 2010, and after training at Fort Benning, Georgia, he arrived at Fort Polk, Louisiana in October 2010. Cody deployed with his unit in November 2010. 

He had received numerous awards and decorations during his service. 

Cody Baker is survived by his mother and stepfather.

Pray for all 19 year olds who die.  They barely have a chance at life. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Cody G. Baker is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
