Firefighter Thomas Ossel, age 28, from Cople, England, was shot and killed on July 18, 2011, while on holiday in Margarita Island, Venezuela.
Thomas was a firefighter in London, England. His brother, Jack, was also stabbed during the incident.

The two Ossel brothers were in their room at Posada Casa Rosa Hotel in the resort of Playa el Aqua, Venezuela, when a group of about 7 people (including 3 women) armed with a knife and gun burst in, in an attempt to rob the two. Others in the hotel heard the robbers shouting in Spanish “dollars, dollars” and the sound of punching and slapping.
Thomas Ossel resisted this robbery attempt and was shot.
Tom is described as being an adventurer, strong and fit, with an infectious personality. Thomas stated about himself - "I love to travel...have been to nearly 40 countries now..would love to make it 100 one day."
Tom is survived by many loving relatives and friends including his father, Ben and his mother, Annabelle.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Thomas Ossel is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

It`s sad how dangerous my country has become. We need international intervention, venezuelais being run by thugs. I hope Toms death will open international eyes to the daily extorsions and threats that my country is has been going through for the past 13 years. We have had more deaths due to domestic violence in one year than most modern wars. Chavez is a fascist villain and his false goverment has brainwashed and constricted venezuelans basic freedoms. We need international intervention, we need the free world to look beyond oil interests.Halp us Open your eyes world.
