Paul Watkins

British L/Cpl Paul Watkins, age 24, died on July 16, 2011, in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.  Paul was shot while on routine patrol.

He was born in Port Elizabeth in South Africa and joined the Army in 2007. He had already served in Iraq, as part of a training team for the Iraqi airborne forces.

Family members stated that Paul was proud of his work in Afghanistan. They also describe him as a loving and caring son, grandson and brother. 

Military officials describe him as determined, intelligent, tough and dependable and that in the face of trouble, he remained calm and focused. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Paul Watkins is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
