Jeremy R. Summers

Sgt. Jeremy R. Summers, age 27, of Mount Olivet, Kentucky, died on July 14, 2011, in Paktika province, Afghanistan, after enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire on Jul. 13. 

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.

Jeremy joined the Army in March 2005 and arrived at Fort Campbell in August 2009.

He is the son of Mike and Laura Summers of Mount Olivet.  Family members stated that he was a good boy, who was doing what he wanted to do which was to serve in the military. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jeremy R. Summers is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
