Emmanuel Techer

French soldier, Warrant Officer Emmanuel Techer, age 38, was killed on July 13, 2011, in a village in the Tagab District of Kapisa Province, Afghanistan, due to a suicide bombing by an insurgent.

Saint Martin of Tours,
pray for Emmanuel
French soldiers, local leaders and tribal elders had gathered to discuss potential road projects, new dams, bridges and other development projects that are important elements of the military’s attempts to build goodwill among Afghans and restore the country’s shattered infrastructure, when a suicide bomber walked up and detonated his explosives.

Emmanuel was born in Sedan. He joined the French Army in January 1993 and served on numerous oversees missions including Chad, the former Yugoslavia, Senegal, Corsica, Kosovo, New Caledonia and Afghanistan.

Military officials describe him as having exceptional vitality, dedicated and full of drive.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Emmanuel Techer is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
