Paul was in a Humvee that was stuck in rough terrain. When Paul left the vehicle to assess what happened, he was hit by enemy fire and killed.

He deployed on April 9, 2011 for his second combat deployment with 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment based out of MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, California.
He was from Miamisburg, Ohio and was a 2006 graduate of Miamisburg High School.
Paul was known as "Rocky" to his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Ryan Lynn and one son Uriah of Twentynine Palms, California and by his father Paul, mother Nanette, and sister Nicole of Miamisburg. His wife describes Paul as her hero.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Paul Zanowick Jr. is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
