Josue Ibarra

Pfc. Josue Ibarra, age 21, of Midland, Texas, died on June 19, 2011, from wounds received while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. 

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

Josue was a 2009 graduate of Midland High School. He joined the Marine Corps last June. His awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

Josue Ibarra, known to his family and church community as “Yoshi,” was the youngest of six born to Maria D. and Daniel Q. Ibarra, of Midland. He is survived by four brothers and one sister.

Family members described him as being loving, friendly and adventurous, with a strong faith in God. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Josue Ibarra is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
