Demetrius M. Frison

1st Lt. Demetrius M. Frison, age 26, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, died on May 10, 2011, in Khost province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Knox, Ky.

Demetrius graduated from Millersville University in 2008.

Demetrius Frison is survived by his wife of two years, Mikki, and their 6-month-old son, Christopher Kenneth.

Friends described him as a young man with a promising future.  Others said, "he had so much love for what he did, and so much love for his family."

He had served in the Army since April 2009, and had worked his way up through the ranks over the last two years. He was last based at Fort Knox, Ky.

He is the son of Paul Hill and Louella Frison.

His awards and decorations include the Parachutist Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terror Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal.

He has been awarded the NATO Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart posthumously.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Demetrius Frison is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
