Staff Sgt. Eric S. Trueblood, age 27, of Alameda, was killed on March 10, 2011, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, when his unit was attacked with an improvised explosive device.
Eric was assigned to the 391st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, which operated out of Spinelli Barracks in Mannheim, Germany.
He was an Army explosives technician. Eric enlisted in the Army 8 years ago.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Trueblood of Mountain View, his father, Don Trueblood of Walnut Creek and his sister Nena Trueblood.
Family members stated that Eric was very committed to help the military accomplish their mission in Afghanistan, where he was first deployed three years ago.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Eric Trueblood is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
