Pfc. Andrew Harper, age 19, of Maidsville, West Virginia, died on March 11 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained in a non-combat related incident.
He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, based in Vilseck, Germany.
He was born Aug, 17, 1991, in Charleston, S.C., the son of Steven Matthew Harper of Maidsville, and Deanna Jeanette Anderson Harper Wells and stepfather, Craig Lane Wells of Middleburg, Fla.

He is also survived by one brother, Steven Matthew Harper II of Burbank, Ill., one sister, Bridgette Kathleen Ross and husband, Michael Brandon Ross of Middleburg, Fla.; maternal grandfather, Charles Edward Anderson of Middleburg, Fla.; paternal grandfather, T. Dane Williams of Lost Creek; one step-sister, Camille Sophia Wells of Dayton, Oh.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and step grandparents, Wallace Hunt Dickson and Pauline Lillian Dickson of Green Cove Springs, Fla.
He graduated University High in 2009, at which time he joined United States Army. He obtained the rank of PFC/E3.
Andrew was interested in sports and hunting and fishing.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Andrew Harper is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
