for Chauncy

Staff Sgt. Chauncy R. Mays, age 25, of Cookville, Texas, died on Feb. 28, 2011, in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. 

He was assigned to the 63rd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Battalion, 20th Support Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.

Chauncy Mays is the son of Tommy and Tammy Mays of Mount Pleasant. He married Katherine Carpenter Mays in 2007, and is the father of Chesnee, age three, and Kiley, age one. He is the brother of Stephanie Laile, Amanda Tenbrook, and Nikki Ray, and Cheyenne Mays, all of Mount Pleasant.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Chauncy R. Mays is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
