Daren M. Hidalgo

1st Lt. Daren M. Hidalgo, age 24, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, died Feb. 20, 2011, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. 

Jesus, ask your
Father to take Daren
into Heaven
and all innocent
soldiers with him

He was assigned to 3rd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany.  After high school, Daren Hidalgo received a U.S. Military Academy appointment to West Point.

Daren Hidalgo graduated from the military academy in 2009 and then completed a year's worth of training before heading to Afghanistan. 

Family members describe him as hard working and willing to take on a challenge, kind-hearted and the "sparkle in everyone's eye."

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Daren M. Hidalgo is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
