Ronald Tarentino - Police Officer Fatality - Massachusetts

Ron Tarentino
Police Officer Ronald Tarentino, age 42, died in the line of duty on May 22, 2016, at a hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Officer Tarentino was a member of the Auburn Police Department. He had two years of service with the Department. He had previously served with the Leicester Police Department.

Just after midnight, Officer Tarentino was conducting a traffic stop on an Auburn city street when the male driver of the vehicle opened fire as he approached the car.

Ron was shot several times.

He was rushed to a local hospital where, tragically, he died of his injuries.

The male shooter, Jorge Zambrano, age 35, of Worcester, fled the scene. He was later located in an apartment/duplex building. The shooter managed to wound a Massachusetts State Police officer before he was in turn shot and killed.

Jorge Zambrano had a lengthy prior criminal record including assault of a police officer.

Michael, Patron Saint of the
Police, pray for Ron and for
those who have lost him.
