David Glasser - Police Officer Fatality - Phoenix, Arizona

Police Officer David Glasser, age 35, died in the line of duty on May 19, 2016, at a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

Officer Glasser was a member of the Phoenix Police Department. He worked in the Maryvale Precinct. He had 12 years of service.

The day before, on May 18, 2016, the Police had received a call from a man in the suburb of Laveen stating that his son was entering his house and stealing guns from the home.

Officer Glasser and other officers responded and found the son sitting in a van in the driveway of the house. The male opened fire on the officers. David Glasser was wounded.

Other officers opened fire and killed the 19 year old shooter.

David was rushed to a local hospital where the next day, tragically, he died of his injuries.

David grew up in Phoenix and graduated from Moon Valley High School in 2000. He later graduated from Arizona State University.

was a good man who was an asset to the Department. He served with dedication and distinction. He will be forever remembered.

David's loved ones are devastated over his tragic death. He was a loving husband and father. He did his best. He was their hero. He will be forever mourned.

David is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and two young children.
