Christopher Ray - Firefighter Fatality - South Carolina

Firefighter Christopher Ray, age 42, of Green Sea, South Carolina, died in the line of duty on March 20, 2016, in Conway, South Carolina. 

Firefighter Ray was a member of the Conway Fire Department. He had 6 years of service. 

During the afternoon of March 20th, Chris was working a residential structure fire in Conway. He was on a fire truck when he somehow fell off. The truck backed up over him. 

Tragically, Chris died at the scene. 

The accident is under investigation.

Chris was a full time firefighter with the Conway Fire Department and was a volunteer with Horry County Fire Rescue.

Conway Fire Rescue is in mourning over the death of their brother. He died in the service of others. He will be forever remembered.

Chris' loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best. He was loved. He will be forever mourned.

Chris is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.

Thank you for your service to the community, Chris.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Chris is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
