Gisela Mota - a Victim of Organized Crime in Mexico

Gisela Mota
Gisela Mota, age 33, died on January 2, 2016, at her home in Temixco, Mexico.

Temixco is about 60 miles south of Mexico City and has a population of just under 100,000.

Gisela had been sworn in as the city's new Mayor on January 1, 2016. She was a former Federal Congresswoman of Mexico.

Armed gunmen stormed into her home and shot her dead.

Two of the attackers were killed by the federal police and soldiers. Three more have been arrested.

Friends describe Gisela as a strong and brave woman who was determined to fight against crime in her city.

The area around Temixco has been the site of kidnappings and extortion linked to organized crime. The area is also a drug route between Mexico City and Acapulco.

It has been reported that certain crime organizations in the area were not happy with
Angels of God, pray for Gisela and
for those who have lost her.
Gisela's announcement of a new hard line approach to crime fighting. Her murder was also meant as a message to other officials in the area not to support a proposed takeover of the control of local police forces by the State Police. It has been reported that, in the past, local police have been under the control of local crime organizations and have protected those criminals from arrest and prosecution.

Gisela is survived by many loving friends, supporters and relatives who will forever mourn her.

Oceans of tears have been shed for this young woman.

Gisela is a heroine of Mexico.

Pray for justice for Gisela.

God save us from the Lost Ones who stalk the Earth stealing away life. Amen.

Pray that Gisela is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
