Erica Garner - a victim of thieves in Detroit, Michigan

Erica Garner, age 42, died on January 27, 2016, at a hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

Erica had driven to a suburban recreational center to pick up her 11 year old son who was playing basketball. She was inside her car in the center's parking lot. 

Erica was approached by two male teens who attempted to force her from her vehicle in order to steal it. Erica tried to drive away but she was shot in the head. 

Others in the vicinity tried to help and called 911. Erica was rushed to a local hospital where, tragically, she succumbed to her injuries. 

The teens who shot Erica fled the scene on foot but were apprehended not long after the murder. 

Ralph Marshall, age 17, and Rayvon Smith, age 18, have been arrested in connection with Erica's murder.

Ralph Marshall and Rayvon Smith are innocent unless proven guilty.

However, to the thieves who killed Erica Garner, we ask this question: What does it

Erica had supported her son's interest in sports in order to keep him out of trouble. She was also the mother of a teenage daughter.

Erica's loved ones are devastated over her sudden and tragic death. She was a generous woman who would give you the shirt off of her back. She did her best. She will be forever mourned.

Erica is survived by many loving friends and family members including her daughter and son.

Pray for justice for Erica. 

Pray for her loved ones who have suffered an unspeakable loss.

God save us from the thieves. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Erica is in Heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
