Scott Hewell

Scott was a member of the Stockton Police Department.  He had almost two years of service.

Just after 2:00 a.m., on May 28, 2014, Scott and another officer were in a patrol car responding as backup to an officer who had performed a traffic stop in relation to a shots fired incident.

On their way to the scene, their patrol car left the roadway and struck a tree. Scott was on the passenger side and the vehicle struck the tree on that side causing him severe injuries.

Scott was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery.  He was released on June 6, 2014 and returned home.  However, on June 11, 2014, he became very ill and was rushed back to the hospital where he tragically died.

Scott was a graduate of San Francisco State University.

The Stockton Police Department is in mourning over the death of their brother.

Police officials stated that Scott was a great police officer, enthusiastic and positive. He will forever be remembered.

Michael, Archangel, Patron
Saint of the Police, pray for
Scott and for those who
have lost him
Jimmie Turner, age 32, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.  He had been driving and had opened fire on another vehicle.  It was this incident with Jimmie Turner that Scott and his partner were responding to when their patrol car crashed.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to help Scott's family can send a check to the Stockton Police Officers' Association, 22 East Market St., Stockton, CA, 95202. Thank you for your service to the public, Scott.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
