Joshua Kidd and his family
Firefighter Joshua Kidd, age 31, of Moore, Oklahoma, died on February 8, 2014, on a highway in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Joshua was a firefighter with the Oklahoma City Fire Department. He worked at Station 30. He had over six years of service.

Josh was off duty at the time of his death. He had finished his shift and was driving home just after 7:00 a.m. He lost control of his pickup truck on an Interstate and it flipped over. Josh was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. He passed away at the scene of the accident.

Joshua began his career in November of 2007. He was promoted to the rank of corporal in November of 2010.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department is in mourning over the tragic death of their comrade.

Josh is described as a great guy and an excellent firefighter. He was well respected and loved by his peers and supervisors. He will be missed.
Florian, Patron Saint of
Firefighters, pray for Joshua

Josh was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at age 29. He woke up one morning with a limp which got worse. He was told by his doctors to find another profession that was less physically demanding, but he persisted because he didn't want to give in to the disease. He wanted to continue to serve as a firefighter.

In recent years, he was struggling but he was able to perform his duties as required.

Joshua is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his fiancée Jessica and his very young son, Miles.

Thank you for your service to the public, Josh.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next.

Pray for a cure for Parkinson's Disease. It affects so many people, so deeply.

Pray that Joshua is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
