Christopher Stover - U.S. Military

Captain Christopher S. Stover, age 28, died on January 7, 2014, in a helicopter crash in north Norfolk, England.

Captain Stover was a member of the United States Airforce.  He was one of the pilots on this flight.

He and three other airforce personnel were flying in a Pave Hawk Helicopter from the 48th Fighter Wing based in Lakenheath in Suffolk. The helicopter was on a low level night training mission and was carrying live ammunition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

There has been an American presence at RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk, since World War Two, and it is the largest United States Air Force military base in Britain.

Christopher Stover graduated from Evergreen High School in Vancouver, Washington in 2004 and attended the U.S. Air Force Academy.

intelligent, had a great personality, was a strong leader and had an awesome smile. He will be deeply missed.

Friends stated that Chris was well liked by everyone. 


He is also described as being pleasant, thoughtful, upbeat and having a great sense of humor. 

His family will forever mourn his passing. He is a hero to them and made them proud.

Chris is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Mary and Rick Stover; and his wife, Sarah.

Pray that Chris is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
