Miguel Rodriguez - a hit and run victim in Paterson, New Jersey

Miguel and his family
Miguel Rodriguez, age 33, of Haledon, New Jersey, died on November 16, 2013, on a street in Paterson, New Jersey.

At about 3:30 a.m., early Saturday morning, Miguel was returning from a gathering of motorcyclists in Newark.

It is reported that a black Mercedez-Benz sedan ran a stop sign and struck Miguel's motorcycle. The male driver got out of the vehicle, looked at Miguel lying in the roadway, got back in his car and sped away.

Police said the vehicle suffered damage to the driver’s side near the front and rear doors. Anyone who has information about the accident is urged to call Paterson police at (973) 321-1112.

Family members describe Miguel as a wonderful man who will be forever missed. His wife, Christina, doesn't know how she is going to carry on without him. They have five children and his wife is pregnant with another child.

Miguel worked at Green Tree, a meatpacking company in Passaic, where he was originally from.

Family members said that he loved riding on his motorcycle with friends during the little free time he had when he was not working or helping out around the house.

The family is urging the man responsible to turn himself in to Police.
Light a candle for Miguel.  Light his way
to Heaven

Miguel is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, and his five children.

Pray for justice for Miguel.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next.

God save us from the drunk and doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father.

God save us from the speeding drivers. They are driving us to our graves.

Pray that Miguel is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
