Forrest Robertson - U.S. Military

Sgt. 1st Class Forrest W. Robertson, age 35, of Westmoreland, Kansad, died on November 3, 2013, in Pul-E-Alam, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire.

He was assigned to the 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, Fort Stewart, Georgia.

It has been reported that Forrest's unit was attacked in an ambush by Taliban insurgents wanting revenge for the killing of Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud in Pakistan three days earlier by a U.S drone attack.

Sgt. Roberton was a former Science Instructor with the Department of Military Science at Pittsburg State University.

He was also a former history major at Pittsburg State University. Officials there stated: "On campus, he was an inspiration to the students in PSU’s ROTC Program. Through his service and sacrifice, he is an inspiration to us all."

respected by his peers. He had a sense of humor that entertained others in fun times and in difficult times.

Forrest is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother; his wife, Marcie, and their three daughters.

Thank you for serving, Forrest.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Forrest.

Pray that Forrest is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
