Kelly Wong |
Firefighter Wong was a member of the Los Angeles Fire Department. He was assigned to Station 92 in Rancho Park. He had two years of service.
On June 3, 2017, Kelly was attending a firefighting training exercise in downtown Los Angeles. Just before 10:00 a.m., Kelly fell from an aerial ladder.
Kelly was rushed to a local trauma center where, tragically, on June 5, 2017, he succumbed to his injuries.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Kelly's family had emigrated to the U.S. from Hong Kong when Kelly was eight years old.
Kelly had graduated with top academic honors from the Los Angeles Fire Department Recruit Academy in August of 2015.

The members of the Los Angeles Fire Department are in mourning over the death of their young brother. Kelly was a dedicated professional who had a bright future in the Department. He died as a hero in the service of Los Angeles. He will be forever remembered.
Kelly's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. Kelly had wanted to be a firefighter even as a young child. He was a loving son, husband and father. He was loved in return. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.
Kelly is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including but not limited to his mother, Ann; his wife, Danielle; and his son, Colton.
