Agent Morales was a member of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Customs & Border Protection. He was assigned to the Ysleta Border Patrol Station. He had 8 years of service.
On May 20, 2017, Isaac was off duty and was with some friends for a night out. Just before 2:00 a.m., they were walking back to their vehicles when they were confronted by a male looking for a fight. Reports differ but Isaac was with a female companion who was allegedly struck by the male subject.
Isaac identified himself as a Border Patrol Agent and pursued the man who turned and stabbed Isaac in the face and eye.
The male attacker was chased, subdued and taken into custody by responding officers.

Isaac was rushed to a local hospital where, tragically, on May 24, 2017, he succumbed to his wounds.
The male attacker, Hisaias Justo Lopez, age 39, will be charged with murder. He has been described as a drug cartel member.
A funding site has been set up to help Isaac's family with expenses.
Friends describe Isaac as an amazing man who was big-hearted and kind in spirit.
The members of the U.S. Border Patrol are in mourning over the death of their young brother. He will be forever remembered.
Isaac's loved ones are devastated over his tragic and unnecessary death. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.
Isaac is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.
