Patrick Sondron |
Sergeant Sondron was a member of the Peach County Sheriff's Office, based in Fort Valley, Georgia. He had 12 years of service.
After 5:00 p.m., Patrick and another deputy responded to a call about a neighborhood dispute at a rural location west of Byron, Georgia. Two residents of the area were riding ATV's on a local road when a neighbor threatened them with a weapon. The officers when to the house of the threatening person and were walking down the driveway when they were both shot without warning.
Other responding officers shot and wounded the shooter who was taken into custody.
Patrick was rushed to a nearby hospital where, tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.

Patrick's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.
Patrick is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.

Tragically, Deputy Sheriff Daryl Smallwood, age 39, died on November 8, 2016, from injuries sustained during the same incident.
